About Derrelle Janey

Before launching his career in law, Derrelle Janey received a cum laude bachelor of arts in political science from Ohio’s Kenyon College and went on to pursue his juris doctor on a full academic scholarship at the University of Michigan Law School. Derrelle Janey is presently a partner with Gottlieb and Gordon, LLP, in New York City, where serves as the practice leader in the firm’s Civil litigation, Securities and Regulatory Group.

Derrelle Janey has experienced a large measure of success in compliance and enforcement defense. In recent years, he obtained a cautionary warning sanction by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in the wake of a multiyear parallel investigation conducted by the New York County District Attorney’s Office. In the same case, the district attorney delivered a no-charge decision.

In his free time, Janey enjoys long-distance running, playing golf in locations throughout the world, and reading the works of Friedrich Nietzsche.
