Summary

Data centers are complex. Hundreds of vendors, consultants, manufacturers, internal IT, facilities, real estate and operations personnel have varying opinions of how to design, build and operate them. The industry as a whole has inched along for decades; philosophies around how best to design and operate data centers no longer align with newer technologies they support. The status quo must be challenged and that can only be accomplished with compelling data that is supported by financial impact. This requires new thinking, advanced technologies and a departure from age old practices. At Technology Deployment Solutions (TDS), we have worked the industry from all sides and brought our knowledge to bear on this pervasive problem for our clients and the industry as a whole. It is our diverse backgrounds in IT Process & Operations integrated with experience in the Design, Build & Construction of data centers that make us wholly unique. We are the only IT Service Management Experts serving the design, engineering & construction communities & the clients they serve with solutions intended to reduce power, cooling and IT complexity. We are also the only firm with a real “Green Solution” that actually reduces consumption by factors over 40%.

The Green Data Center Alliance
The Green Data Center Alliance, with over 1,500 members internationally, was created as a neutral foundation to find, review, implement, and track Green initiatives inside the data center envelope. To this end we will share whitepapers, ideas & thoughts, strategy & processes, technologies & techniques; proven and conceptual alike to reduce power, cooling & carbon footprints of these notorious abusers of energy. We encourage all members to share their experiences; both positive and negative with the aim of controlling and containing data center power consumption.
