Associate Programmer Analyst (Specialist)

  • Uses mainframe tool Viasoft to better track Assembler code
  • Reviews requirements to make sure they match with Assembler programs. If errors are found, records them and brings them up in meetings to change requirements accordingly
  • Draws flowcharts in Visio to represent Assembler programs

Software Engineer

  • Created and modified more than 50 programs using PL/I that met customer requirements for reports for Colorado, Missouri, District of Columbia, Oklahoma and Arizona
  • Created elaborate summary files for Tennessee by extracting code from several programs for two straight years. Also developed metric graphs and performed modifications for the Individual Profile Report
  • As member of the TerraNova third edition team, created 10 report programs that were launched into the educational school (K-12) market across the Nation
  • In charge of writing report code for the entire Wisconsin state contract. Made modifications on a series of at least ten report programs using PL/I
  • Received Company's team Achievement Award in May 2007 for performance excellence
  • Coordinated offshoring meetings to transfer knowledge of reports procedures
  • Supervised and assisted team members in every step of the way in creating and modifying reports
  • Documented report specifications -changes to be made to reports- to serve as information for the current and following report year

  • Created and maintained programs using PL/I and JCL that met specifications, calculated page definitions, created database records, created and maintained groups to build JCL, tested data in reports, checked for correct data in files, updated excel maps, logged out and logged in modules with correct definitions, produced collated reports, all as part of the successful Wisconsin project
  • Maintained programs on about 20 projects including West Virginia, Illinois, Tennessee, IStep and Supera
  • Created cohort programs from scratch. This program is now in production and the report shows sorted data for the past seven years. The report can also be produced in collated form
  • Trained in other technologies such as Actuate and Ideal, which enhanced ability and skills in creating online programs and panels

Sr. Software Engineer

ASM Research
  • Developed and modified 2000-3000 lines in programs using COBOL, CICS, DB2, SQL and JCL
  • Created EXCIs and RPCs, COBOL programs (with embedded DB2) that could be accessed from the mainframe (CICS) and also from the web for update and viewing purposes
  • As part of the AAPAM project, set up meetings with system designers gathering information to develop COBOL programs, CLISTs and JCL that created reports
  • Automated a process that previously required several manual steps by combining CLISTs and JCL
  • Applied extensive use of SQL for DB2 queries for the successful completion of programs
  • Developed several web programs using HTML, ASP, VBScript, JavaScript and Visual Studio that accessed and updated data stored on the mainframe
  • Created components in Visual Basic that enabled the web programs to access the mainframe programs for data manipulation
  • Tested every piece of code that was created and placed into production
