Since 2008, Delbert Ballou of Chicago, Illinois, has owned Milo Freight Services, a freight broker to ship and forward cargo. In this role, he serves as a liaison who matches the shipment with the right carrier and finds his customers the best possible rates for shipping.

From 2007 to 2009, Delbert Ballou also worked as a Senior Insurance Agent for DM Insurance, where he performed a host of duties. Mr. Ballou assisted customers in obtaining home and auto policies and made necessary changes and updates to existing policies. In addition, he requested policy reinstatements from the underwriting department and developed his proficiency in Clarify and ImageWriter software, and AS/400 control language. Prior to this, Delbert Ballou served for two years as a Help Desk Technician at the call center for Fidelity National Information Solutions, Inc., a role in which he assisted customers over the phone with the use of Web-based administrative software applications. Mr. Ballou also took responsibility for troubleshooting and analyzing calls and documented all calls in the company’s database. He gained significant customer service skills in this position by working with clients to resolve their problems and ensure their satisfaction. As a Loan Processor for Jeffrey Samuels Realty LLC in 2005, Delbert Ballou processed mortgage applications submitted to lenders by clients and ordered appraisals for properties as well as insurance. He also ensured that all loan documents were submitted correctly and on time and entered new contact information into the company’s database. In 2004, Mr. Ballou acted as a temporary Legal Assistant in the collections department of Motooka Yamamoto & Revere, where he performed general office tasks and transmitted court documents for filing. In addition, Mr. Ballou ensured management companies received owners’ payments and that homeowners’ association (HOA) issues were tracked and reported in minutes form after the meetings. Delbert Ballou drafted letters to owners who were past due with payments and also updated amicus curiae files and summary notes. Prior to this position, Mr. Ballou served as an Administrative Assistant and Accounting Clerk at LL Builders LLC, where he prepared analysis reports on various projects in the works, entered data in QuickBooks, handled accounts payable and receivable, and maintained employee records. Delbert Ballou also served Capital Research Group, Inc., in 2001 as an Administrative Assistant, where he assisted clients in loan processing up until closing.
