About Deborah Wahlstrom Superintendent

An award-winning trainer and educational consultant, Dr. Deborah Wahlstrom serves as superintendent for Mt. Clemens Community School District in Michigan. Since accepting the position in 2012, she has helped to significantly reduce the district’s budget deficit through the implementation of structural changes and the refinancing of outstanding bonds. Additionally, as the district’s superintendent, Dr. Deborah Wahlstrom has implemented a number of strategies to improve student achievement, including completing an Instructional Learning Cycle (ILC) pilot to help teachers track students’ progress.

Previously, Dr. Wahlstrom spent 18 years as the president of Successline Inc., a consulting and publishing company that offers specialized resources for educators. She holds a BA in science and biology, an MS in educational administration and academic leadership, and a PhD in urban services and academic leadership from Old Dominion University.

She is a member of the Association for Supervisors and Curriculum Development and the Michigan Association of School Administrators. An avid reader in her free time, enjoys literature related to education and technology, as well as fiction.
