I am a result driven, self-motivated and resourceful quantity surveyor working as part of a busy team, effectively managing all the cost relating to building, civil, engineering and mining projects.  I have a total of 9 year quantity surveying experience with 3 years working for main contractors and 6 years working as a PQS.  I possess excellent foresight and the ability to plan ahead and assess and identify problems and find innovative solutions.  Can communicate effectively and impart knowledge, ideas and concepts with clients/contractors/developers and would be an asset to any employer who respects loyalty and responsibility.

  • Participate in the pre-qualification and survey of companies wishing to tender.
  • Review contract requisitions and scope of work definition with engineering disciplines ensuring that technical specifications and workscope definitions are satisfactory in the content and format for tender purposes.
  • Prepare tender documents and co-ordinate planning for tender issue.
  • Preparing Bills of Quantities and other pricing schedules using available drawings and other data available in conjunction with the appropriate engineering disciplines.
  • Make recommendations for inclusion of provisional sums and contingency allowances based on the likely scope of work to be constructed.
  • Reconciliation of tenders received against original estimate.
  • Prepare and participate in tender evaluation by analyzing tender rates and prices including sensitivity/risk analysis. Provide comprehensive commercial evaluation of tenders reviewed for inclusion in the tender report. Co-ordinate the commercial and technical evaluation of tenders and prepare tender report and bid summary form for management approval.
  • Prepare official contract documents and arrange execution.
  • Advising on order award value and of any changes affecting construction contract manhours requirements.


  • Monitor any changes to the value of the work arising from drawings issued, revisions, site instructions etc.
  • Prepare estimates for site instructions/variation orders and ensure that they are properly categorized.
  • Use all recourses and remedies available under the contract in order to ensure that the contractor meet his contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and process monthly interim progress certificates in accordance with the contract requirements.
  • Attend all regular site meetings and prepare and distribute minutes of meeting when required.
  • Review, adjudicate and analyze claims and expedite settlements when required.
  • Prepare and execute amendments to contracts as necessary.
  • Ensure that contractors bonds and insurances are in force and registered.
  • Prepare and agree final accounts of contractors.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports when so required.
  • Ensure that proper documentation is kept to facilitate technical or financial audit and the safe return of records to archives following job completion.
