With more than 20 years of experience in entertainment, technology and marketing, Drew Deighan has a practical familiarity and ease with both the creative and the production side of the process. This gives him an extremely broad range of skill sets to pull from and utilize in his capacity as a marketing executive. In addition, he is an accomplished negotiator and strategist who has most recently helped guide national imaging and marketing campaigns for one of the premier non-profit youth participation organizations in North America, the American Youth Soccer Organization.

In his time at AYSO and elsewhere, he has helped it achieve new levels of sponsorship and media affinity partnership. His abilities and achievements have been instrumental in helping to forge sponsor relationships with such Fortune 500 companies as Clear Channel, Herbalife, Hyundai, Kellogg s, Dole, Schering-Plough, Nestle and McDonalds, to name a few. He has comfortably and effectively developed relationships from Manager to CEO level and has worked with major media partners such as The Walt Disney Company, Dreamworks, Clear Channel and Cartoon Network as well as international management/agency powerhouses 19 Entertainment, Creative Artists Agency, J. Walter Thompson, Leo Burnett and Octagon.

Offering a blend of creative and operational strengths and managing a staff of 8 for AYSO s national marketing team, Mr. Deighan has helped achieve sponsorship and marketing turnarounds for the organization and is recognized for his success in helping to grow and exceed sponsorship goals. This includes a precedent setting youth sports jersey-naming sponsorship for AYSO and Herbalife, the first such national deal in youth sports.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Deighan has also worked at major entertainment networks and studios including NBC, The Disney Channel, and Paramount Pictures. A member of the Writer's Guild, he has also written for television and film, including Star Trek:The Next Generation, and has gained considerable experience and valuable skill sets having worked both in front of, and behind, the camera, including commercial production, network television production and motion picture production.

Mr. Deighan received his BA in History from the University of Colorado (Boulder) and then attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (Pasadena) for studies in Performance and Production. He currently works and lives as a marketing executive in Los Angeles, CA with his wife Sandy and his son Sean and is also a volunteer coach for the American Youth Soccer Organization.

Responsible for research, development, sales presentations and management of corporate sponsorships, affinity partnerships and sponsor marketing and activation activities for AYSO and its corporate partners. Meet, exceed and grow the organization’s sponsorship revenue goals; advise and assist in the planning and execution of national marketing/advertising campaigns; supervise marketing and communications team members (marketing coordinators, creative designers, departmental assistants) as well as direct and advise outside agency/sponsor personnel in sponsorship activations, special events and experiential on-site marketing efforts. Guide executive volunteers in marketing activities and techniques. Oversee departmental budgets, reporting and employee timecard and scheduling approvals. Manage all nationally-directed P.R. and Communications efforts. Specific duties and achievements include:

·Manage a marketing and communications staff of 8, including sponsorship sales, marketing coordinators, grant writing/fundraising, graphic designers, communications & PR., webmasters and volunteer personnel

·Develop and manage new corporate sponsors and partners including Clear Channel, Hyundai USA, McDonald’s, Molten USA, Schering-Plough (Claritin, Coppertone), Kraft, Nestle’, Kellogg’s, Clorox, DreamWorks, The Walt Disney Company, 19 Entertainment Ltd., Fox Sports (Fox Soccer), AEG, The David Beckham Academy and The CAA Foundation

·Plan and execute national promotional activities, including experiential events, print, electronic media, and direct mail outlets

·Manage copywriting, design, layout, paste-up, and production of promotional materials, advertising and organizational print collateral and website development and inventory

·Manage and produce promotional audio/visual materials, internal and external marketing activations and promotional campaigns for organization-wide events including National Section Conferences and the Annual General Meeting

·Negotiate sponsorship deal points and contract elements with sponsors, affinity partners and vendors

·Develop and execute marketing plans and activation programs to ensure the growth and expansion of organizational marketing goals, products and services

·Manage and promote national P.R. and event marketing campaigns, corporate communications, and over-see production and distribution schedules for national organization’s electronic media and print collateral, including weekly e-zine, monthly newsletter and quarterly playsoccer magazine (dist. 550,000 households)

·Routinely deliver sponsorship sales presentations for current and potential corporate sponsors, marketing partners, advertising agencies, affinity media partners, etc.
