To whom this may concern at Scotlynn,

Please accept this letter and resume as my application for the Logistics Coordinator position offered through your company. This is of particular interest to me as it would not only allow me to apply and expand my business skills, but it would also grant me the opportunity to channel my expertise in logistics and supply chain management. As a graduate of Niagara College’s 3 year International Business program I have successfully completed business, logistics and commerce related courses in both theory and application. It is through my study at Niagara that I developed an interest and desire to work in international trade and supply chain management. I spent my time at Niagara learning international business theory and real world applications of international trade. My diploma earned here fulfilled the requirements for myCertified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation from the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) organization - which I am writing the exam for in May 2014 as I now have the industry experience requisite for this certificate. In response to the skill set/knowledge required for this opportunity, my scholastic studies and experience in the 3PL industry partner very effectively in meeting the demands of a client focused position that requires an end to end supply chain understanding. As a whole I feel my work experience and scholastic accomplishments have been very influential in strengthening my ability to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively communicating with colleagues and mentors.

I am currently a Workflow Specialist at Genco Distribution where I plan and direct product flow for the DC. I am responsible for scheduling /consolidating shipments and controlling the efficient flow of inbound/outbound TL & LTL product through our 500,000 square ft. multi-client distribution centre. I have extensive experience utilizing 3rd party ERP software(SAP, WMS/TMS) to fulfill orders and dispatch shipments. Before I joined Genco I was a Transportation Administrator then promoted to Transportation Coordinator at Transfreight Integrated Logistics, a leading 3PL serving the automotive manufacturing industry. In these roles I was responsible for monitoring, reporting and ensuring on time execution of all over the road international transportation operations across North America. In these roles I grew as a professional and an individual, exercising exceptional time management and communication with clients in various functional areas. My efforts in January of this year at my current company contributed to a successful start-up of a new Canadian warehouse for two of our clients. I travelled to an existing distribution centre in the Mid-West USA where I spent time studying their standard operating procedures which I brought back and implemented into the launch of the Canadian distribution centre, which just recently won start up facility of the year out of 23 new Genco operated distribution centres.

With these skills and experience I feel I would be a beneficial addition to your team. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to further discuss my application.

Thank you for your consideration,

 David Steele
