I've a background in economics and accountancy; upon leaving University I undertook accountancy training and was responsible for developing financial systems and management information solutions.
I have worked with Internet technology - particularly to improve internal communication, knowledge sharing and collaboration - since 1994. I've co-run my own business since 2000, and I've spent a considerable part of my career working in and with the public sector and larger organisations.
In 2007 I was proud to become a founding director of 4TM Services, a training and consulting company dedicated to helping businesses and organisations develop strategies to implement and take advantage of social media and Web 2.0.

Initially employed as a trainee accountant, moved into the provision of financial information to managers through customisable ICT systems.
