As second-generation owner of Johnson Family Dentistry, David Johnson, DDS, imbues his work with more than 25 years of experience in the dental arts. He continues to build his knowledge of the profession and advance the technology and offerings of his practice, providing patients with state-of-the-art equipment and procedures. Dr. David Johnson, along with associate Dr. Kelly Yeung and a staff of professional hygienists and assistants, provides a full range of dental services at the practice's Portage, Michigan, office. Dr. David Johnson received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan and went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the same institution. He followed his dental studies with three years in private practice, during which time he also taught at the Northwestern University School of Dentistry as a part-time clinical instructor. Dr. Johnson returned to the Kalamazoo area in 1988 to join his father's dental practice and assumed full control of the business the following year. Dr. David Johnson continues to pursue professional education and remain up-to-date with developments in the field of dentistry. As a result, the practice offers the latest in dental technology, including the CEREC one-appointment tooth-repair system, the Odyssey Diode Laser, and the KaVo DIAGNOdent laser detection aid. Dr. Johnson remains abreast of industry developments through active membership in several professional societies, such as the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, and the Academy of Computerized Dentistry. In addition to his private practice work, Dr. Johnson donates his services through charitable organizations, such as the Michigan Dental Association's Donated Dental Services program and the Free Clinic of Kalamazoo. He lives with his wife and has two children, both university students.
