David Dickey is a respected adviser and speaker whose years of military service and extensive work on behalf of the military community earned him the title of 2011-2012 Veteran of the Year by the San Diego Veterans Museum and Memorial Center. A 15-year Marine and successful small-business owner, David Dickey has put his experience and passion to work by helping veterans and their families.A New Hampshire native, David Dickey attended the University of Rhode Island and later earned a Master’s degree from the United States Naval War College. He was a Marine Corp officer and Bronze Star recipient. Following his years of military service, Mr. Dickey co-founded a technology and engineering firm over which he presided until 2012, when he shifted gears and embarked on his current endeavor.As President and CEO of The Patriot Group, David Dickey advocates for transitioning military veterans and their spouses and assists them with finding meaningful employment. The company offers placement services, events, education, and other resources. Outside of his formal occupation, Mr. Dickey is also involved in numerous other organizations that offer support to military families. He has been extensively involved with the California Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise, an alliance that lobbies for veteran participation in state contracts for goods and services. Another organization in which David Dickey is heavily involved is Guide On, which was founded to help the families of fallen military heroes. Through its leadership camps, Guide On provides skill training and outdoor adventures for children who have suffered the loss of a military parent. Monthly mentoring is also available to provide these children with the continued guidance of an adult role model.
