Mr. Shacochis currently leads the Product Management team for hosting and public cloud management services at CenturyLink, responsible for all product lifecycle activities around IT solutions in the datacenter.  

Mr. Shacochis has been in the Information Technology industry for nearly twenty years, with experience in many of the major divisions of a technology organization including global operations, customer service, software integration, strategic marketing, product management and corporate integration.  Over the past ten years Mr. Shacochis has been  focused on the product lifecycle at CenturyLink since taking responsibility for its utility computing platform and supporting its digital transformation to the industry-leading  multi-service management platform that exists today.  

Based in Northern Virginia, Mr. Shacochis sits at the nexus of high-technology, advanced communications and public sector organizations which make up the local economy.  An engineering-trained MBA, his career experience with firms such as UUNET, Exodus Communications, Digital Island, Fusepoint, Qwest, Tier 3, Cable & Wireless and Level 3 has built a wealth of IT infrastructure experience with a variety of clients across diverse industries.

Responsible for creating an ecosystem effect around CenturyLink and its automation platform.  Developed strategic alternatives for platform development as a senior advisor to the CIO, which ultimately led to the acquisition of Tier3 and launch of the CenturyLink Cloud Development Center in fall of 2013.  Led the integration team and then joined the CenturyLink Platform team to lead the user, partner and developer evangelism functions for one of the Top 5 IaaS cloud computing platforms in the world.

Responsible for driving product, systems, operations and marketing alignment to best serve the Global Public Sector vertical at Savvis.  Responsible for the specific products and features of the Savvis product portfolio that address government-specific challenges.  Built strategic marketing strategy and revenue plan for the establishment of the vertical, and engaged with the buildout and construction of this formal organization.


  • Successfully re-established GSA Schedule 70 procurement vehicle, and established a compliance process for ensuring continuous updates to commercial service items on the schedule.

Responsible for three major programs within Savvis' core R&D organization: Systems Analysis & Support, Service Creation, and R&D Quality. All services within Savvis' $790M+ global business run through each of these three programs prior to launch.


  • Led the Business Analyst team responsible for the replacement of legacy monitoring console with Netcool Webtool, the implementation of HP Server Automation, and the decommission and integration of various legacy sysetms.
  • Led the Service Creation team which integrated hundreds of new products and features into the systems and process framework on a global basis.

Worked as the primary point of contact for over 200 sales representatives in an IT outsourcing business worth over $45 million in annualized revenue.

Hosting Operations


Technical account management, datacenter operations, and personnel responsibility in a mission-critical service environment. Various individual contributor and line management roles at Cable & Wireless (2000-2003) and SAVVIS (2004-2005). 


  • Managed a 14-person operational support department consisting of Project Managers and Program Managers with engagements totaling $48 million in annualized revenue.  Responsible for solution implementation, quality control, and achievement of time-oriented goals on behalf of client projects and programs. Responsible for data center buildouts, service migrations, wide-area networking (WAN) implementations, and consulting engagements.
  • Managed day-to-day customer operations for an Internet Data Center as part of Cable & Wireless. Supervised over 70 distinct customer relationships worth $15 million in annualized revenue.  Accountable for regional P&L results on a monthly basis, measured against revenue and gross margin targets. Performed quarterly financial statement analysis as part of P&L responsibility.  Managed a team of 20 engineers and project managers in an outsourcing-model business. Managed daily interaction with multiple other support organizations and back-office personnel.
  • Supervised the system-level integration of billing and CRM platforms between legacy organizations.
  • Managed over 40 physical datacenter migration projects, as customers moved their mission-critical technology from one datacenter to another during a preplanned maintenance windows.
  • Worked as the Global Operations Manager for a Fortune 500 customer with revenue responsibility exceeding $4.5 Million per year.  Supervised the work of multiple web hosting teams in different geographies worldwide. Developed cross-datacenter policies for support of global customers. Managed global implementations of mulit-tiered web hosting architecture, web traffic reporting software, problem management procedures, and statistical analysis.

Technical Account Manager - Enterprise Hosting


Worked as part of Enterprise-class Web Hosting operations team as a technical point-of-contact for customer IT staffs.  Responsibilities included customer relationship management, system architecture review, proactive technology management, and business-focused problem solving.

Served as a systems architect for post-sale network expansion activities. Facilitated contract specifications, order processing and customer communications. Incorporated aspects of IP network design, equipment specification, Windows server management, UNIX cluster operations, Oracle DBA requirements, firewall integration, server security policies, remote monitoring, and human resource management.

Developed experience with holistic high-availability e-business systems design. Gained experience with root cause analysis and organizing IT resources to address customer problems. Developed personal relationships and utilized consensus-building communication skills to garner support for customer-focused issues.

Project manager for all land development activities in dozens of Centex communities across Northern Virginia.  Oversaw the entire land development process through land acquisition, project planning, capital budgeting, engineering, and construction. Responsible for the direction and management of multiple subcontractors and consultants. Supervised the maintenance operations of new neighborhoods still being completed.
