By leveraging Now Technologies'15-year history of delivering innovative technology solutions to its customers, Now Applications provides efficient assessments of legacy IT applications and develops budget-sensitive alternatives. We accomplish this by employing state-of-the-art rapid application development tools and methodologies to customize solutions that meet the unique challenges of our customers.

Provides technical and architectural thought leadership for Private Sector, Federal Civilian, Defense, and Intelligence agencies.  Owns the "art of the possible" in terms of enterprise software strategy for customers, helping to shape IT architecture as it relates to SOA, BPM, Cloud, and Big Data.  Keeps one foot in the conference room and one foot in the data center to transition quickly from business dialogue with a customer to technical dialogue with CIO/CTO.

Partners with sales management teams to develop relationships with CxOs and other leadership/influencers to drive customer technology vision relative to need and regulatory mandates.  Develops sales opportunities, identifies unique government security needs, and provides technical expertise to solve business problems.

Reports to the Senior Director of the Enterprise Architects Office responsible for providing architecture guidance to customers and prospects.  Works primarily within the sales process to fully understand a prospect’s business problem and construct a solution around that problem leveraging Software AG products.  Exhibits a high level of sales and business maturity, operates independently in pre-sales activities and has the proven ability to quickly understand business problems and find the appropriate Software AG technology offerings and differentiators.

Represents the highest degree of technical architecture and design expertise within the Software AG technologies, process and integration solutions space. Acts as a field liason to augmenting the voice of the customer to internal organizations: Research and Development, Product Management, Product Marketing, Global Consulting Services, etc.

My primary responsibility is providing technical education and support to customers focusing primarily on the application of technology to facilitate the execution, management, measurement and improvement of business processes.  For process improvement initiatives, my experience includes successfully employing the techniques and philosophies of Lean and Six Sigma as well as alternative CPI approaches.Typical activities include:

  • Consultative interactions with business and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and apply technology appropriately
  • Leading architecture and enterprise design/review sessions with Enterprise Architects
  • Demonstrating product capabilities and articulating business value
  • Driving technology drill down sessions for knowledge transfer

Software AG, the second largest European software company, is considered a global leader in providing independent business infrastructure software.The team I led specialized in delivering global business application integration services and business process management services to 4,000 full-time employees across 70 countries.

  • Customer Support (web-based customer/partner extranet, internal knowledge management tools, and process control/process management systems)
  • Order Fulfillment Systems (Quote-to-Cash process and global electronic delivery of software)
  • Marketing Support (www site, targeted email campaigns, microsites, lead generation tracking)
  • Enterprise Tools and Integration Systems (back-end automation and integration with Siebel, SAP, HR systems, finance systems, etc)

In addition to managing the human resources of the team, I also served as an overall project manager leveraging full project lifecycle methodologies (with specific experience leveraging Waterfall and Iterative paradigms).  Other management duties included several oversight tasks:

  • Continually working with business owners to understand business direction and key requirements
  • Support of Sarbanes Oxley compliance including procedure documentation reviews, internal control testing, and auditor support during annual control testing
  • Strategic planning including documenting and vetting rolling 12-month project roadmaps across functional areas and business owners
  • Quarterly management reporting including production event summaries, team objectives definition and scoring.
