Managed a group of 5 Senior Chemist providing a wide array of analytical services to a major tobacco company. Primary responsibilities included overseeing all training of analysts, forecasting of projects, and daily routine testing. Served as a key resource to Methods Development group and other Group Leaders.

Managed 2nd shift GC/MS group performing forensic drug testing on biological samples. Primary responsibility was to oversee all training, testing and methods development that was required to run laboratory in a very efficient manner. Sample analysis also included headspace GC/FID for blood alcohol samples.

Responsible for daily project management and contact with up to 42 sponsors worldwide while overseeing all laboratory forecasting and budgeting. Laboratory was responsible for all in-process, raw materials, finished products and stability samples within corporate.

Developed rugged, efficient, specific and sensitive analytical methods primarily for mini-plant and early piloting. Provided site-wide GC/MS and imaging microscopy support. Completed installation and documentation of new laboratory instrumentation and computer software and hardware. Also, provided support for drug product and drug substance stability samples.

Independently developed, documented, validated, and formally transferred analytical methods(chromatographic and titrimetric) in support of synthesis development, process piloting, and regulatory approval of small molecule NCEs. Prepared documents for regulatory submission.

Coordinated and implemented training of Chemical Quality Assurance Technicians and Chromatography Specialist in standard operating procedures, instrument protocols, and cGMPs. Responsible for mentoring analysts in daily routine testing and maintenance. Techniques included HPLC and GC with various modes of detection and all compendial and site specific wet chemistry testing. Authored and reviewed operating procedures and instrument protocols for the site.
