Students must be exceptionally diligent and self-directed as they work mostly from a distance with an accomplished mentor. Program required critical paper, master's thesis, field study, teaching online and in-person, poetry translation from various languages, evaluating/editing peer's writing, writing a one-hundred (or more) page manuscript, one-hour senior presentation and public reading.

Highlights: Interviewed Bono for field study; final presentation, "Courting the Interview," selected for international humanities conference; portion of final manuscript and extracurricular writing applied toward agent-represented book in-progress.

Highlights: Comedic, one-act adaptation of Rip van Winkle peer-elected as one of only four plays (out of fifty submissions) chosen for theatrical production at TESC in 1999; cast as lead actress in one of the other three plays; recognized many times for writing exceptional research projects, screenplays and poetry by various professors; and chosen to assist a professor with two writing classes several years after graduation.
