I am a self-motivated, well driven person with a growing passion for marketing. I am always seeking out new opportunities to enhance my knowledge which is reflected in my participation in competitions including 'L'Oreal Brandstorm' and the Chartered Institute of Marketing's 'The Pitch'.

I have a growing interest in how advances in technology are influencing the digitisation of brands, and how this will effect consumers. Inspired by this I have chosen to research further into Brand Humanisation for my Dissertation. 

During my placement year I was given the opportunity to attend 'Social media for business' and 'Assertiveness for Effectiveness' training, enhancing my skills in both online and offline communications that can be applied in any future positions.

Working within the School of Computing and Engineering during my Placement year, I was able to get involved in a variety of marketing communications including introducing both staff and student newsletters, sourcing and creating content for online news pages, social media campaigns to engage new students, market research, event planning and organisation and proof reading of marketing materials.

During this one month work placement, I worked alongside the marketing team, getting involved with projects for a variety of well known brands including Cellotape, Land Rover, Vimto, FirstHosted and Ryman on tasks ranging from proof reading packaging, campaign design, and given the opportunity to express my thoughts and ideas in team briefings.

Finalist in the Chartered Institute of Marketing competition 'The Pitch', presenting at the final in front of six industry professionals.

Currently Captain of the Swimming and Water Polo Society within the University of Huddersfield, undertaking a variety of roles including management of funds and organisation of events, to keep up the successful running of the club.

I have been on the Dean's list for Meritorious Performance in both 2013 and 2014.

Taking second place in a week long digital marketing competition within the Business School during second year at University.
