Research Assistant

As a Research Assistant I've been working on research project:

Simulation tool for bent axis axial piston machines, supervised by Prof. Monika Ivantysynova.


  • Development of the mathematical models able to predict performance of bent axis axial piston pumps or motors;
  • Detail modelling of pump kinematics, which includes all forces and moments exerted on machine parts;
  • Modelling of pressure in displacement chamber, flow and pressure in discharge port, flow and pressure in suction port;
  • Complex modelling (3D flow) of the self adjusting gaps: rings - cylinder bore interface, piston - cylinder bore and cylinder block - valve plate interface, based on force equilibrium;
  • Modelling of the flow and friction force between piston and cylinder block, and between cylinder block and valve plate;
  • Fluid structure interaction modelling;
  • Modelling of the temperature distribution in the lubricating gaps;
  • Test rig setup and data acquisition;
  • Implementation of the models in C/C++;
  • Model verification by analyzing obtained results and comparison with measurement.

My background, education as well as experience are strictly related to the modelling, simulations and testing of hydrostatic pumps and motors (rotating equipment).

I have received Master degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cracow University of Technology, majoring in Modelling and Monitoring of Working Machines with an excellent grade.

Past three years I have been working at Purdue University (one of the top ten universities in the US) on research project: Development of the simulation software for bent axis axial piston pumps and motors. Main objective of this project was to develop simulation tool (by using C/C++ programming language) able to predict performance of hydrostatic pumps or motors and obtain results comparable with measurements. To achieve this task, it was necessary to develop number of mathematical models and apply appropriate numerical methods. 

All this wouldn't be possible without my analytical skills and ability to creatively solve many different problems and analyze the results to form conclusions.

While working at Purdue University I had the opportunity to cooperate with people from many different cultures, give professional quality presentations to fellow researchers and industry sponsors.

I am self-driven and initiative person who work towards agreed objectives and targets. I speak fluent English and Polish. I am well organized and communicative.
