Daniel Epperly

I am currently employed in the post anesthesia care unit at Baptist Heath Lexington. I have extensive experience and training in recovering patients ranging from low to very high acuity within; neurological, gynecological, general, orthopedic, thoracic, cardiovascular, hand, oral & maxillofacial, otolaryngol, plastic, pediatric, urological, and colon/rectal surgeries. I am trained to manage airways, blood pressure, pain and a myriad of medical conditions which require close observation and maintenance. I have also been trained to manage the psychosocial elements of patient and family care.   

I assisted the surgery personnel with surgeries according to hospital policy and core competencies regarding patient care. I used sterile technique and provided emergency assistance when necessary. I prepared operating rooms for surgery, assisted with intubations,  and cleaned the surgical suites post surgery. 

I prepared the area and supplied the necessary tools and equipment for the anesthesia personnel. I cleaned the anesthesia machine and work area post surgery. I was also responsible for providing assistance to the anesthesia personnel within the operating room during code situations.

I assisted surgeons in all areas of surgery according to sterile technique, patient transport, emergency assistance, prepping rooms for surgery and cleaning rooms post surgery. 

I gained training in the philosophy of nursing care. 

I gained training in the most essential nursing skills necessary to care for patients in the clinical setting.
