Dana Cope is the current executive director of the State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC.) He has held this position since 2000, but Dana Cope’s history of public service stretches even further back. Before starting out with SEANC, Dana Cope had been the Director of Governmental Affairs for the North Carolina Department of Labor dating back to 1992. Before that, Dana Cope owned and operated a political consulting firm in Washington, DC, between 1988 and 1992.

In addition to leading the SEANC, Dana Cope is also the vice president of the 2.1 million member union the Service Employees International Union’s Executive Committee. He also served on SEIU’s International Board from 2008 to 2012.

Dana Cope lives in North Carolina’s capital, Raleigh, with his wife Melinda and their two sons.
