Summary

Attending Physician Dr. Damon Fierro has treated patients in the Emergency Department at Huntsville Hospital in Alabama since 2003. Dr. Damon Fierro accepted the position following his postdoctoral training and has spent his entire career there. As a member of the Emergency Department, Dr. Damon Fierro practices medicine in the only Pediatric ER and Level I Trauma Center in the Huntsville, Alabama, region. The hospital has also garnered full accreditation from the Joint Commission, a nonprofit agency that evaluates health care organizations. Dr. Fierro maintains membership in several regional and nationwide medical organizations, including the American College of Emergency Physicians; Madison County Medical Society; and MASA, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama.Prior to joining Huntsville Hospital, Dr. Damon Fierro pursued additional training in emergency medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Fierro received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine in 1996. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of La Verne in California. At La Verne, his academic achievements earned him the designation of Natural Sciences Scholar and inclusion on the dean’s list. Dr. Fierro supports several organizations, including both his alma maters. He also contributes to Vanderbilt University, The Salvation Army, and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. When he is not working, Dr. Fierro engages in traditional pastimes such as brewing beer and cattle farming. He enjoys reading books suffused with social themes, including the works of James Kunstler, Joseph Conrad, and George Orwell.
