Holiday Inn Melaka, successfully opened on Monday 1st October 2007 as a purpose built 275-room brand defining Holiday Inn. With a Ballroom to seat 700, six function rooms, Tea Tree Spa, Pool, Gym, two dining outlets and a lounge bar, it has raised the benchmark of hospitality in the historic state of Melaka, Malaysia. The hotel was opened one month early with me only starting in February 2007, was cash positive in month one and in 2007 contributed over RM1 million GOP.

Prior to re-joining operations, I was Regional Director of Sales & Marketing – Southern Asia, based in Singapore for IHG between January 2006 and February 2007. This role was responsible for the overall strategic direction within sales, branding, marketing, distribution marketing and revenue management of our 47 hotels across South East and South West Asia. Working closely with the Asia Pacific Head office team of brand management and operations, all properties finished well positioned in 2006 and solid start for 2007 and beyond to exceed expected revenues and key indices last year.
