After Dale V. Hunt joined the United States Navy in 1976 as a recent high school graduate, he soon displayed his talent and hard work ethic to his superiors. The Navy assigned Hunt to electrical work, and he eventually became an Electrician and Work Center Supervisor. The Navy awarded him the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his service. After his discharge from the Navy, Dale V. Hunt set his sights on higher education, first attending Normandale Community College and later the Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he graduated with honors in 1988.
Until 2003, Dale V. Hunt’s professional career encompassed primarily electrical engineering and elements of management, including marketing and sales. He developed his management expertise through formal training, earning an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. In addition, he gained invaluable practical experience, working first as a sales representative for an insurance company and then in various marketing director and project management positions. Then, in 2003, Dale V. Hunt took a position as Project Manager for the Middletown, New York, facility of EYP Mission Critical Facilities, Inc., a renowned leader in the strategic technology planning industry that was acquired by HP in 2007.
At EYP Mission Critical Facilities, Dale V. Hunt executed initiatives to evaluate the financial performance of individual projects against objectives established by senior management. He also worked in a number of areas to establish a more comprehensive system of reviews and checkpoints to streamline the project management process and make it more profitable. Transferring to EYP’s Chicago office in 2005, Dale V. Hunt became the Critical Facilities Assurance Practice Leader and established a commissioning group in that office. In addition, he assumed responsibility for building out the company’s commissioning work in the Midwest.
In 2007, Dale V. Hunt became Director of Commissioning for Chicago-based Facilities Management Solutions. He held oversight for the sales, marketing, and operations of the firm's commissioning services, in sectors such as data centers, higher education, biotechnology, and health care. In addition, Hunt ensured the company's profitability by hiring subcontractors and optimizing the use of in-house engineers.
Dale V. Hunt recently accepted the position of Commissioning Engineer and partner at California Data Center Design Group. Hunt draws on his many years of experience in the industry to handle the firm's various electrical and mechanical projects that require commissioning.
