Overall general responsibility for development of the company with a main focus on change management, driving sales as well as production efficiency and process alignment.
During the 3 years under my management the company has experienced a dramatic growth both in revenues and profitability: company revenues doubled, while profitability indicators rose significantly above the industry standard. As a result, euroscript Baltic is now the leading Language Service Provider(LSP) in the Baltic region and one of the leading profit generators for euroscript globally.
The main factors driving the positive change are setting and implementing a clear strategy, building and leading the management and sales team, as well as establishing and maintaining customer oriented approach and processes.
My main responsibility was ensuring successful sales of language and technical writing services and development of new related products in content management area. This included such tasks as account and project management, market research, planning and controlling sales and marketing budgets, analyzing costs and setting sales prices. I was also preparing proposals to public and private customers, negotiating contracts, as well as coordinating marketing and PR activities.
My task was to develop a line of innovative services with streaming media products. It included consumer media sites for television and other multimedia content in the Baltic countries, as well as streaming media services to other web portals (Delfi.lv, Apollo.lv and others) to complement their content. Other B2B offerings included audiovisual media monitoring, mobile broadcasting, video advertising and customer video portal development, maintenance and support, as well as organizing live video transmissions over the Internet, the major one of which was the Eurovision Song Contest worldwide.
I also won the bid and implemented an internal video broadcasting system for the State Chancellery of the Republic of Latvia. This job was challenging by having to develop an innovative service line in yet an underdeveloped Internet environment. It centered around building various partnerships for content and technologies: TV companies, telecommunication companies, mobile operators, event organizers, producers and distributors, news agencies and portals.
As one of the very first employees of the leading news portal, I had an opportunity to be involved and take the responsibility of the new media development, content partnerships, site architecture and design, as well as everyday publishing operations, news and photo selection. During the first year we reached the goal of 1 million pageviews per day which was incredible in the country of 2 million population with weak internet coverage. I was also involved in the pan-Baltic content development decisions and supporting first advertising moves in the market where web media were not yet seen as serious players.
