Serving a publicly funded organization that manages over 10,000 acres, the Communications Manager position creates, oversees and executes a strategic communications plan that strives to promote the importance of preservation through programming, education, outreach, brand management and positive media representation.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating, managing and overseeing graphic design projects and messaging to ensure organizational branding guidelines are adhered to.

• Composing press releases and obtaining prominent placement and advantageous coverage of Park District projects and initiatives. Innovative press release creation led to a 34% increase in positive media stories regarding Park District efforts towards conservation and community outreach, and a 30% increase in front page photo placement of Park District events.

• Created direct e-marketing campaigns using targeted emails and topic specific web pages to minimize budget impact while maximizing return on investment. Targeted e-marketing campaigns increased specific program attendance by 15% with minimal asset investment. Reduced bounce rate below 5% and increased click through rate by 7% points.

• Skilled graphic designer, editor and lead writer for county-wide direct mail newsletters, annual reports and promotional pieces.

• Web site management and creation of easily navigable, user-friendly interfaces to streamline web content. Search engine optimization of website resulted in a 22% increase in hits and a 37% increase in monthly page views.

• Composed fund raising "ask letters," web site content, annual reports and newsletters.
