Working with MSN OPS EMT to design and build internal tools to make deploying and scheduling upgrades and releases easier for all of the MSN feature teams.Created a User Management tool that allows Global Administrators to create, update, delete and grant access to users and feature teams throughout MSN to the multiple tools being built. This entailed designing the UI, writing WCF services and writing SQL triggers and stored procedures. I also played a developer role on a team of 4, designing and developing a release request and release deployment system.

Responsible for updating the Microsoft Research DCGenome Explorer application to prepare the code for code review and get the project production ready.This process included SQL Server maintenance and upgrade from SQL Server 2005 to 2008, writing Stored Procedures for use in the code, creating SQL Agent jobs to backup and cleanup old data, writing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services, debugging and cleaning up the original code base which was written in ASP.net, C# and JavaScript, replacing inline SQL Queries throughout the application with Stored Procedures, making the code more generic by removing hardcoded links and data connections by adding them to the web.config,creating error handling and notification, redesigning and writing a new front end UI in Silverlight 3, C# and WCF Linq to SQL Web Services, as well as writing user and installation documentation for the application.

Responsible for building Silverlight 2 and WCF RESTful service based prototypes and code library for a new product website yet to be released that allows users to view, add, edit and delete existing content such as photos, messages and friends information.  The application uses Silverlight data binding as well as C# code behind to build the layout and presentation of the content.  The prototypes will be used by a third party team to build the final website.  Also responsible for researching, documenting and evangelizing best practices as well as documenting tips and tricks for use by the third party team.  Also responsible for creating Powershell install scripts that are used to deploy the site to multiple servers.

In the Windows Sustained Engineering group developed applications and Web Parts for the Partners Sharepoint Portal.  Implemented tools including the Windows Service Pack and Security release signoff tools, an extensive reporting query builder, and a bug management and escalation tool using ASP.NET, C#, Outlook Web Components, XML, XSL,HTML, DHTML, JavaScript. PM duties included facilitating signoff on shipments of Windows Updates and Service Packs with Test Leads, PM’s and Dev Leads for 100s of shipping components.

At the City of Tacoma developed multiple pages and applications for the Tacoma govME website, refactored ASP/FrontPage code to ASP.Net with the new website UI design and developed an in depth user help system. As a Web Application Developer for MSN Member Support Service’s group I designed and developed web applications and SQL databases for all web applications for the group. I also oversaw other developers on the team on applications including: Flash Active Desktop tool, Site Administrator tool, and Support Rep Call Monitoring tool (Customer Service System). As a Web Application Developer for Windowsmedia.com, I developed multiple pages on the public website, developed the CDWizard and DVDWizard found in the Windows Media Player, and developed a Content Editor tool that allows content writers to create and add content to the website.
