Research and Program Management

I can bring ideas to life. Using research skills I can co create projects from conceptualization to impact study, I have seen the full cycle for a number of development projects both under my own leadership and as a consultant. I have lead teams both large and small and worked for a variety of clients from large companies to grassroots community based organizations. I have done Research Design, Research Implementation, Fundraising, Proposal Writing, Grants Management and Monitoring and Evaluation for different size organizations. I have produced and advised both qualitative and quantitative research from the field before and after projects.

Public and Media Relations

A main function of all of my work in East Africa has been public relations. I have a through understanding of development issues and how the public perceives both the challenges and successes. I have friendly working relationships with contacts in the media in print, radio, television, and on the internet in both Kenya and Tanzania. I am well versed on how to talk to the media and what is required to find a story, tell it, and publish it via the most appropriate channel for the audience. I am comfortable working independently or as part of a media team and can contribute in both leading and following.

Software Skills

I have an excellent command of most basic software such as MS Office, Libre Office, accounting  packages, and through knowledge of cloud based research applications and their implementation. I am an expert Googler and literature review researcher. Additionally, I can lead software development teams and create new applications in a variety of languages.

Social Media

With over 30,000 followers all over the world, I use my social media identity to support change in Africa. I have extensive experience with different types of social media platforms and applications including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, LinkedIn, You Tube, Flickr, etc

African Experience

Africa is so vast I could never cover it all or go all the places I can imagine. I have lived in 3 countries in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and visited 15 in Sub Saharan Africa. I submitted my citizenship paperwork in Kenya in September of 2016.
