  • Oversaw day-to-day technology operations for 700 users.

  • Football Coach 2014-Present

  • Developed and maintained 5 year technology plan.

  • Put a SMART board, and document camera in every classroom.

  • Planned and oversaw wired/wireless infrastructure renovation.

  • Developed 1:1 computing plan and oversaw it from plan phase all the way to roll out for 7 years. 

  • Helped infuse technology into every classroom.  

  • Maintain 5 Windows and 3 Mac servers as well as VMware. 

  • Manage printing, VOIP, web site, Google Docs and all other technology systems. 

  • Managed 530 Mac computers, 200 ipads.  

  • Network was an Extreme infrastructure with a Fortigate firewall and an iBoss web filter.  We used Windows Servers for networking functions like DHCP, DNS and Active Directory.

  • Supervised staff of  4 and .5 million dollar budget.
  • Ran technology department/committee for CCSD #1.

  • Oversaw LAN/WAN operations.

  • Created and implemented technology staff development plan.  

  • Assisted in Virtual School adoption.  

  • Did maintenance of PowerSchool Oracle dB (backup, upgrades and observed general health).

  • Installed and maintained ZIS as well as worked with 3rd party vendors to ensure its general operation.

  • Implemented K-8 Internet Safety program.

  • Created technology footprint and oversaw the purchase of equipment. (SmartBoards, Clickers, document cameras, sound systems, and chassis to support it all).

  • Worked intimately with 3rd party vendors in implementing educational software like: READ 180, MAP testing, RenLearn, Education City, D2SC and others to support learning in the classroom. Many times these products required dB exports, modifications to data and system changes in order to make them work and I oversaw all of this.

  • Made modifications to network to future-proof its operation: initiative to run fiber between buildings, increased our through-put from 6mbps to 24 and using smart firewall rules to increase availability.

  • Maintained Cisco ASA firewall and iPrism Internet filter.

  • Initiated a Google Docs pilot program at the secondary level.

  • Introduced staff to using video conferencing in the classroom and was part of acquiring hardware and content dollars to support this effort.

  • Very familiar with HP switches and wireless access points.

  • Worked with staff/principals/department heads to make modification for students with special academic and language needs.

  • Piloted initiatives with emerging technologies like: pod/vodcasting, hosted apps, Kindle's in the classroom, social media and blogging.

  • Regularly trained staff on many different subjects through many different mediums.

  • A common media used was vodcasting http://www.screencast.com/users/choughton. 

  • Headed team to move to Windows network, planned project, moved assets around and acquired technology.
