Hired full time at beginning of last tax season but layed off due to lack of work due to current economic climate.  Assisted tax department in completing tax preparation work and related accounting year end write up work which resulted timely completion of customer work during the tax season reinforced by employer bonus payment for tax season work.  Extensive exempt organization tax returns, in addtion to individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.  Also considerable work in preparation of audit workpapers.

Temporary assignment at Avamere Health Services in Wilsonville, OR at the corporate office tax department preparing S corp and partnership corporate income tax returns for the October 15th tax extension deadline.  Avamere Health Services is a major retirement and skilled care elderly healthcare provider having numerous facilities throughout Oregon and Washington.  I prepared nearly two dozen total corporate income tax returns during the four week assignment and also reviewed accounting tax workpapers prepared by staff for tax purposes.

QuickBooks Payroll

Over six months experience processing payroll for a dozen small businesses having one to 15 employees.  Provided tax deposit information and processed all quarterly and annual payroll tax reports and information forms (W-2s, 1099-MISC, etc.).  Three years of prior experience preparing and reviewing reports for Paychex and ADP payroll processing services.  One year supervising in-house payroll clerk for 150 employee organization.  Over two years of experience with bookkeeping and general ledger work on small business client accounting records where a payroll processing service was used for payroll. 

Compiled Financial Statements

Over a year of experience preparing compiled and reviewed financial statements at public accounting firms comprising approximately 10-15% of time budget.  Six years of total experience preparing monthly financial statements at two small businesses (three years on QuickBooks and three years on Peachtree Accounting).

Accounting Write-up

Over a year and a half of public accounting write-up work approximately 25-40% of time budget.  Extensive additional experience with year end adjustments to general ledger for small business internal financial statements used to prepare business income tax returns.  Six years of total experience preparing monthly financial statements at two small businesses (three years on QuickBooks and three years on Peachtree Accounting).
