Craig Berkel possesses nearly 20 years’ experience in sponsorship sales and sports marketing. Over the past two decades, he has established a solid reputation within the golf industry for his ability to negotiate millions of dollars in corporate sponsorships, athlete endorsements, and licensing agreements for leading sports entities and personalities. Craig Berkel is the current owner and principal of his own sports marketing company, Fore Sports Clients, where he advises private club and golf industry clients on how to address potential growth challenges, and how to integrate current technological advances into their operations to help increase revenue and member participation and retention.After graduating from Boston College in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Craig Berkel joined International Management Group (IMG), one the largest sports management companies in the world. While at IMG, Mr. Berkel advanced from Tournament Coordinator to Tournament Director of the Golf Division, where his marketing and recruitment programs helped increase yearly revenue by 55 percent and tournament attendance by 60 percent. He further developed his expertise in sports marketing and management by serving as Director, Corporate Marketing and Player Relations for Woolf Associates in 1999. Mr. Berkel’s previous positions also include Director of Marketing at WEEI Sports Radio in Boston; Director of Sales & Marketing at Affinity Golf Management; Sales & Marketing Consultant at The Golf Club of Cape Cod; and Regional Sales Executive for MembersFirst, a company that provides online marketing tools to member-based leisure and hospitality clients.Craig Berkel actively supports numerous charities, including the Jimmy Fund, a Boston-based cancer support group; and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. Aside from golf, Mr. Berkel’s hobbies include sailing, and coaching youth lacrosse and football.
