About Craig Averill

Since 2008, Craig Averill, JD, has served as a music and entertainment industry attorney at the law offices of Serling, Rooks, Ferrara, McKoy & Worob, LLP, in Manhattan, New York. Mr. Averill offers clients his expertise in entertainment law, the drafting of recording contracts and other media agreements, music-industry negotiation proceedings, and all related legal matters. At present, Mr. Averill represents a range of clients in the United States and worldwide, including gold and platinum certified recording artists, producers, songwriters, record labels, publishing companies & media companies.

A 1988 graduate of The Catholic University of America, Craig Averill earned a juris doctor degree at New York Law School in 1993. After working nearly a decade in the recording industry, and serving as the general manager of Gypsy Records from 1996 to 1999, he worked with clients in conjunction with other entertainment law attorneys until 2008, including his own firm Sciorra, Leaness, Averill & Rubenstein, LLC that was formed in 2004.

Aside from work, Craig Averill practices mixed martial arts (MMA) at the Tiger Schulmann studios in New York City. He also enjoys east coast surfing with his kids as often as possible and has traveled to surf to destinations like Australia, Brazil, Costa Rica & The Dominican Republic
