A versatile anesthesiologist and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in the field of health care, Courtney Leddell, MD, currently dedicates his time to the Glockner Group. The Seattle-based software company develops solutions for use in surgical applications. As the Chairman and cofounder of Glockner, Dr. Leddell plays a large role in the direction of the young company by overseeing the information architecture of various software creations as they are designed and slated for production. During his time with the company, Dr. Leddell has filed a United States Patent Application for proprietorship of an anesthesia recordation device. Filed in 2010, his innovative patent simplifies the end-user interface and incorporates computer tablets into server-based technology. The expected result will be greater operating efficiency by medical personnel and higher-quality patient care. Courtney Leddell’s extensive experience in direct patient care as an anesthesiologist prompted his present work toward improving health care technology. As the former Vice Chair of the Department of Anesthesia at Illinois’ Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, he fulfilled supervisory and direct anesthesia administration roles for a comprehensive range of medical procedures. Over the course of six years with BroMenn, Dr. Leddell worked with state-of-the-art delivery systems to ensure that anesthesia was administered in a safe and effective manner, while maintaining full compliance with state and federal laws. Courtney Leddell achieved his Specialty Certification in Anesthesiology from the American Board of Medical Specialties, and he is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists as well as the American Medical Association. A graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Dr. Leddell completed a residency in Anesthesiology from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and was published in the Journal of Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine.
