Observed removal of thoracic cancer and esophageal cancer in the surgical setting. Assisted with initial evaluations of candidates for surgery through history and physical assessment, and by preparing patients for an ECG, P/F testing, Spiral CT, and laboratory draws. Discussed with patient pre-operative requirements and post-operative condition. Rounded on patients' and performed in-hospital assessment, assessment of pain management, assessment of discharge criteria, assessment of discharge medications. Interviewed candidates for free tobacco cessation treatment program through UAMS.
