Biography

Being a first generation college student, Courtney has had to work hard to achieve a success no one else in her family has yet to receive. Growing up in the small town of Rigby, Idaho, Courtney had the opportunity to achieve many successes, such as going to the state tournament for tennis and graduating in the top 40 of 270 students in her class.  With hopes of having  better financial stability than what she had known as a child, Courtney has dedicated herself to gaining a higher education.

When Courtney first came to Idaho State, she thought she wanted to center her education on the health field. She quickly realized that her interests did not exist where she thought they had. Finding more interest and love for learning in her Introduction to American Government class, Courtney changed her major to Political Science. Four years later, Courtney is about to graduate in December 2015 with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Public Relations. As a first-generation student, Courtney has high hopes to set herself apart in the public relations industry. Her dream would be to become a community relations director, organizing events and publicizing a prospective company throughout the community.
