I am hard-working and independently driven, qualities proven in education, employment and volunteer work. I always strive to exceed the expectations set by myself and others, and most often succeed in doing so, believing that work done well means greater satisfaction for all. I am currently looking for a part-time position, specifically in urban horticulture/eco-business, and am keen to learn new skills in a field that deeply interests me (and is, after all, the future for a city-dominated world).

I have full rights to work and live in the United Kingdom (citizenship).

Work experience

Blacksmith Assistant / Promoter

Mar 2015 - Feb 2016
Brocton Forge, Auckland

During my final year of university I assisted Brocton Forge with the install and maintenance of gates, fencing, fixings and furniture in the Auckland region. I also helped improve the public image of the business by running Facebook advertising campaigns and designing flyers, business cards and signs for Sunday and Saturday markets (where I also represented the business in a customer-facing role). Further duties included minor clerical tasks: ordering supplies and invoicing clients.

A fast paced and highly enjoyable festival for both volunteers and patrons.

Bakery Assistant

Dec 2010 - Mar 2012
McGregor's Doughbin, Wanaka

Over two busy summers I improved my skills in teamwork and gained the ability to work in a fast-paced workplace (a New Zealand tourist icon, almost) that constantly required you to think on your feet.

As this was my first job, I acquired a great deal of self-confidence from this role. Since the Doughbin Bakery is a busy lakeside bakery in one of Lonely Planet's 'Must Visit' locations, we regularly encountered a pub-rush at 2-4am over the Christmas and New Year holidays. Working at these hours with many customers (most of whom were not sober!) was a very enlivening experience.
