Soap factory process engineering intern

Olivine Industries
  • Identification of plant equipment and production bottlenecks for optimisation projects. This entailed solution conceptualisation, testing and piloting, technical reporting through to implementation of proposed solutions. Projects undertaken included the following:
    • Effluent plant optimization,
    • Steam energy audits,
    • Skyline green bar development
  • Budget forecasting and control and wastage analyses to optimise supply chain management of raw materials
  • Responsible for human resource allocation and management during production shifts,
  • Tracking plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor process operation, and developing solutions to maintain plant operation at desired levels,
  • Handling customer complaint forms, (CCFs) and devising strategies to rectify the same,
  • Identifying employee training needs,
  • Production reporting at monthly and quarterly year periods

I was responsible for the development of a new laundry soap, introduced towards the end of 2014 as the re-branded Skyline green bar.

Specialist courses include mineral processing, biochemical engineering, and environmental engineering. The epitome is the final year group design projects which consolidates all concepts into a single plant design project.
