Skills

Skills

Sketchup 3D Modelling

Sketchup is the leading quick modeling software available for free from Google. I have used it to plan renovations and furniture construction. It allows one to plan completely, right down to the dado's and joints, exactly what you need. I have also used it for furniture layout planning when moving to a new house to save the back breaking effort of shifting it around several times.   There are many ways it can be used in everyday life. Getting ideas out of your head and seeing how it might work in the real 'virutal' world. I planned my own 3 Axis CNC machine with it before buying a single piece of hardware or material.

iPhone Programming (Objective-C)

I am currently studying and enjoying learning to program and develop iPhone applications. The interface and interaction elements that are part of the programming environment are unlike any other offering for development. The ease of use for applications that are developed on the platform brings non-tech savvy people to the market of mobile apps like never before.

Drupal Programming/Implementation

Having discovered the Drupal CMS in 2005, I have since devoted my programming efforts to join the community based concept. I have written and contributed several modules for the Drupal community that are used by a number of people.   My knowledge of Drupal programming has allowed me to setup sites that exceed clients expectations. Custom modules for 'clean' changes to the way Drupal operates are critical in the path to site longevity. Flexibility in adapting the Drupal framework to the clients specific needs are the key points that it provides.   It is a toolbox that I am very comfortable with and continue to discover new ways to save time and produce great results. Keeping up with the latest changes is a passion as well. Tempering that with the actual needs of clients is where the synergy really gives benefit as not all technology should be embraced for the sake of it.
