El Toboso is a Chilean based consultant firm providing services in strategic redesigns, business development and, financial and logistic consultancy for an exclusive clientele.

  • Identified a business opportunity centred in satisfying SMEs unmet needs. Designed a completely new service focused in improving sales, operational and management control. Following the successful execution within the first firm, the client list grew by 20% the first year.
  • Effectively analysed complex data and aligned differing participants’ viewpoints to deliver a pricing model for a blue chip logistic service. Sharp creative thinking and solid influencing skills were used to gain the acceptance of key stakeholders, contributing to increase revenues, turn around client’s losses to profits and enhance relationship with suppliers.
  • Contributed significantly to develop the recovery plan for a bankrupt company through sharp strategic insights and rigorous performance control. Motivational leadership and solid interpersonal skills were used to commit and coach a team of ten, exceeding the first year sales forecast by 50%.
  • Rapidly assimilated a complex new industry context enabling the creation of an excellent business plan, making possible the start up of a business in the logistic-pallet sector. The resultant firm gained 15% market share in the first year of trading.

SK is a Chilean conglomerate present in Argentina, Peru and Mexico with businesses in the services, industrial, commercial and automobile sectors, and revenues of £1.2 bn in 2008.

  • Developed and reviewed the financial valuation of projects and ventures worth £330 m in the industrial and commercial sectors. Robust analytical and strategic thinking were used to identify value drivers and apply stochastic and sensitivity analysis. The resulting reports exceeded expectations and enabled a more informed decision at board level.
  • Contributed significantly to the successful IPO for the 25% of SK in the Santiago Stock Exchange. Used robust management and planning skills to lead cross-company teams in the preparation of the financial and operational data presented to investors and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepared high impact presentation material for the Board of Directors to be used with investors and stakeholders. The acquired knowledge of the group, creative thinking and communication skills were used in the presentation material resulting in the foundation of two new businesses.
  • Effectively led a cross-company team of eight in generating group’s annual budgets, forecasts and quarterly performance reports. Optimised subsidiaries’ data sharing processes, reducing generating time in 50%. Through performance metrics and benchmark analysis of key business drivers provided compelling recommendations and a complete overview of the group performance for the board.

Enaex, a Chilean based company with revenues of £240 m in 2008, is leader in Chile and Latin America in the provision of ammonium nitrate, explosives and blasting services for the mining industry.

  • Managed the economic valuation of projects and assets for £245 m in Latin America and Europe. Used sharp analytical and modelling capabilities to prepare precise strategic and economic reports, exceeding senior management and board’s expectations.
  • Worked closely with the CFO and a team of six in developing budgets, reports and long term financial forecasts. In particular, used strong modelling skills to enhance the estimate of key cost and value drivers, proposing measures that restrained the impact of a 25% rise in the FX rate (US$/CL$).
  • Consulted in the negotiation of the amendments of the syndicated loan for £35 m and provided a complete financial and economic impact analysis, enabling the successful syndication of it.
  • Successfully headed a financial team to ensure the compliance with the Chilean Risk Rating Body’s regulations and banks’ covenants. Using solid financial knowledge and planning skills prepared the data and identified non-compliance issues, recommending corrective actions and forecasting future requirements.
  • Directed a team of 15 in the preparation and assemblage of the contents and financial statements presented in the 2001 to 2003 annual reports. Used collaborative leadership and solid planning skills to successfully and timely deliver the reports in accordance to regulatory requirements.

  • Played a key role in the team that created a draft implementation plan to fulfil the strategic goals of global growth. This was achieved through preliminary valuation of strategic areas, developing key insights of the European and American markets, as well as, outlining suitable approaches.
  • Designed and presented a common framework for the valuation of the company projects, considering strategic, financial and operational aspects. As a result, the corporate team gained a powerful tool for managing and controlling new and existing projects.
