Hurricane Dockside Grill

Hurricane Dockside Grill has allowed me to be a part of a rapidly growing company that promises toalways have new surprises. Not only did we ship in sand for a wedding held on our premises, wehold various banquets, participate in local charity events, and will be expanding our company threestores this year. While I am sad I cannot be a part of the Hurricane family forever, I truly feel athome when at work and strive to do my best promoting the brand we strongly believe in, featuringsignature drinks, over 30 different sauces, fresh sea food, and a relaxed, island style atmosphere.

Gators Dockside

When I relocated back to my home-town in Florida, I found a job at Gators Dockside. I was able touse all of my skills to ensure the locals had a fantastic time dining and enjoying the many weeklyevents, from trivia to poker, that Gators' put on. Many of these regulars have kept in touch with meafter I accepted my new position at hurricanes and still stop by to see me.

Stay at home mother

As my daughter was approaching two years old, we decided I should take some time to spend withher while she was still little and encourage her curiosity of the world. While I valued this timetremendously, I am not a person who was meant to be a home-maker and quickly decided that Iwas ready to begin working again.

Played bassoon freshman concert season. Drum-line and pitpercussion sophomore and junior years.Participated in JV Soccer, V Bowling, cross country, track and field, computer club, drama club, andNational Honor society in addition to taking honors classes and my interest in the fine arts.During my junior and senior years I dual enrolled at Lake-Sumter Community College, where Ibegan working towards my Associates degree. In 2006 I elected to take a few years off and "findmyself", like so many other young college students. By waiting until 2010 to return, I was able togain the maturity and drive needed to further my education.

To pursue as many volunteer and extra-curricular opportunities I can while attending the University of Alabama as a Dietetics Major.  By doing such, I hope to increase my chances of securing an internship and my awareness of the needs of a dietician in the community.

I am a part time student at the University of Alabama. I am able to participate in their distance-learningprogram, which is great because my husband has joined the Army and we don't know where we will belocated a year from now. This also allows me the flexibility I need to balance work and my two childrenwhile attending a highly reputable institution. I have always been extremely science orientated, andnutrition is my passion. I hope to not only use my knowledge to assist individuals locally, but to be ableto reach out to children and their families in developing nations. When not focused on school-work or my full time job, I enjoy spending time with my children, Nora (4)and Nathan (1). We love to go for walks and talk about nature. Our home feels like a zoo at times, with 4 birds, a cat, a dog, a hairless rat, and two fish tanks. My daughter loves trying new fruits, especially when we can go pick them ourselves.

People skills
Able to read people by body language and reactions, and usually can turn a potentially bad situation into a great one. As a bartender, I have had guests who are upset with their server, food quality, etc; and turned them into regulars by showing them how honestly I want to fix the problem and show them a great experience.
Computer knowledge
Proficient with all Microsoft programs including access, excel, power-point, and word. Also understand general networking and troubleshooting. Have used scheduling software to make and update appointments and patient information in the past.
