Active in the community of real estate development professionals in western Alabama, Claude Shelby holds a license as a real estate salesperson and manages two apartment complexes in Tuscaloosa. Claude Shelby earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Advertising at The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, just a short distance from the apartment complexes he manages, and he is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. A hands-on property owner, Claude Shelby manages Yorktown Commons Apartments and Parkview Circle Apartments, both of which are near the Tuscaloosa campus of The University of Alabama. Claude Shelby is responsible for a wide range of duties at both complexes, including collecting rent and keeping the books, attending to maintenance issues, performing public relations and marketing activities, screening prospective tenants, and meeting with community leaders. Due in large part to his tireless efforts, both complexes generally operate at a 100% occupancy level and tenant reviews and evaluations reported through online services usually rank them at or near the top of all Tuscaloosa apartments.Outside of his professional experience, Claude Shelby attends the First Presbyterian Church, which he has served at various times as a committee member and a Deacon. He was also part of a mission team in San Jose, Costa Rica. Shelby is also a generous supporter of the Annual Fund of the Tuscaloosa Academy. When not managing the apartments or serving the church, he enjoys teaching youths to wakeboard and water ski. His preferred equipment for wakeboarding is a 7.5-foot genuine surfboard. Claude Shelby also enjoys snow skiing and tries to visit Vail and Telluride when possible.
