About

Clarence Gooden has been with the railroad transportation company CSX for more than 40 years. He began his career in the industry in 1970 when he took a position with the Seaboard Coast Line, one of the predecessor railroads that later merged to form CSX. An ambitious worker, he steadily rose through the ranks, being promoted to trainmaster in the late 1970s, and then to assistant general manager, vice president, and general manager during the 1980s. After serving in multiple executive roles in the 1990s, Clarence Gooden became president of CSX Intermodal in 2001.

Clarence Gooden attained his current positions at CSX of executive vice president for sales and marketing as well as chief commercial officer in 2004. In these roles he is responsible for generating consumer revenue in addition to forecasting business trends and developing models for future revenue growth.

Outside of his professional life, Clarence Gooden is devoted to his family and enjoys spending his free time with his wife and their daughter.
