Development Department Intern

Detroit Institute of Arts

I worked in the Development Department for a nonprofit organization in Detroit. While there, I assisted in planning fundraising events, attended meetings with potential sponsors, and was included in development round tables that focused on how the museum was going to handle the bankruptcy in the city. This gave me valuable experience into the work nonprofits do, as eel as how to build and develop personal relationships.

Geoff Dulaney

I worked as a nanny for two summers for a single father with two sons under age five (2013-2014). In addition to taking care of the boys at the house, I assisted around the house, planned and monitored the boys throughout the day and around town. I gained valuable multi-tasking experience, and learned how to monitor chaotic situations and respond quickly and calmly.

Retail Salesperson


I worked at a small privately owned retail store that sold golf apparel and equipment. While here, I assisted customers with anything they needed, worked at the register, and would open and close the store daily. I gained valuable experience in working with customers, as well as having the responsibility of monitoring daily sales and receipts.

University of Vermont

Education certification program with a focus in English Language and Literature. 3.25 GPA. Involved in UVM's Rallython, Greek Life, the Panhellenic Executive Board, and the Club Ski Team. 

Leadership and Involvement

Committee for the UVM Dance Marathon

I have been involved in the planning and execution of the University's 12 hour Dance Marathon for the last two years, when it was first brought to campus. In just those two years, we have raised over $70,000 to benefit pediatric cancer research, and created an tradition that will continue at the University for many years. I have obtained food and beverage sponsors for the event, spent time promoting the event on campus, working on social media PR, and helping to make the day of the event run smoothly. Both years, I have stayed at the event for all 12 hours working and dancing for the kids. 

Panhellenic Delegate

Serving as the Panhellenic Delegate for Delta Delta Delta allowed me to reach into our larger Fraternity and Sorority community, and interact with new people. I also developed communication skills, as I acted as the messenger between the Panhellenic Executive Board and my own chapter. 

Vice President of Programming

During my time as the Vice President of Programming for the Panhellenic Executive Board, I have come to better understand the amazing work our Fraternity and Sorority community accomplishes every semester. It also gives me the opportunity to recognize how unique and special each chapter is to our community. 

Philanthropy Chairman

My position as Philanthropy Chairman has given me the opportunity to plan and execute events that benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the national Philanthropy of Delta Delta Delta. This position allows me to explore my creative side, and has taught me how to talk to potential sponsors, articulate what our purpose is in a clean and precise way, while also satisfying my desire to help others and my love of children. 

Member of Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi is an International Honor Society in Education. I was initiated in the Spring of 2014, and have attended events with other UVM students who have also been selected for initiation. 

Alpine Club Ski Team

As a member of the University Club Ski Team, I have found a group of people who love ski racing as much as I do, and a way to maintain one of my passions from high school. I also get to meet students from around the Northeast who also share our love for this sport.
