COURTNEY MCLARENVice President, Client Services

Courtney oversees and manages all aspects of Client Services.  Her main focus is increasing Revenue for our Newspaper partners beyond the run of the first ad.  And in doing so helping migrate the Newspaper Culture to a consultative proactive environment.  She manages both West and East Coast Client Service offices as well as our European operations.

Because her experience is drawn from working in all Newspaper Classified Verticals she is able to understand their needs on a more intimate level.  She started out her Career with the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret Morning News, moved into a Business Development role with Media News Group and has managed Classified and Advertising teams.  Courtney joined AppVault in 2005.We are providing tools that provide knowledge, and if used turn into rapid action, which is the ultimate competitive advantage.

I currently oversee all of Client Services which requires extensive work in several facets of the companies objectives.  Because we are a strategic company providing our partners with the ability to market and brand themselves, gain an understand of their ROI to their customers as well as bring in new revenue streams.  It is critical that my team of Client Service Managers, who oversee all our partnerships are capable and well equipped to grow existing business by various methods and strategies.

·Direct, plan, and implement policies, objectives, and activities of organizations or businesses in order to ensure continuing operations, to maximize returns on investments, and to increase productivity.

·Prepare budgets for approval, including those for funding and implementation of programs.

·Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with production, pricing, sales, and/or distribution of products.

·Review reports submitted by staff members in order to recommend approval or to suggest changes.

·Appoint department heads or managers, and assign or delegate responsibilities to them.

·Direct human resources activities, including the approval of human resource plans and activities, the selection of directors and other high-level staff, and establishment and organization of major departments.

·Prepare and present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes and rulings, and other items affecting businesses or program services.

·Implement corrective action plans to solve organizational or departmental problems.

·Deliver speeches, write articles, and present information at meetings or conventions in order to promote services, exchange ideas, and accomplish objectives.

Managed all facets of Client Services as well as specific Newspaper propertiers to grow and retain business.  Some of these duties included but not limited to:

  • Hiring and training all new personnel
  • Creating training manuals for not only internal but external clientele to grow sales revenue

As a corporate Business Development Manager, my main role was to strategically introduce new products and revenue streams to my newspaper properties all over the US. Not only would I recommend potential partnerships, but I would outline long term strategies both for monetary purposes as well as strategic long term goals. I would help implement these new products through various training and reporting techniques to ensure success.
