Allied Telesyn was in a period of growth in Europe when I joined as a System Support Analyst with responsibility for all Northern European offices. By the time I’d left I had all European office IT under my control. Allied Telesyn went through tremendous growth spurt at this time and IT function had to continually evolve to keep pace with the business needs. Contribution Successfully relocated 5 European sites. Including split and re-setup of company ERP solution for Europe only based in Performed analysis, proof of concept development and deployment of group CRM solution across 7 sites in 4 languages , Formulating non-functional requirements (performance criteria) of the new system. Europe wide evaluation, purchasing, planning and implementation of Windows 2K and Exchange 3K migration from Novell, ccMail environment. Project completed on schedule across 14 sites in 8 countries within 2 months. Evaluated suppliers, negotiated and implemented contract of new European WAN while achieving monthly savings of £20,000. Set-up European website intranet and remote hosting contracts managing renewals and new contracts Result: A functioning, flexible European IT infrastructure department with the capabilities and capacity to handle any service requests from the business
