Dispatch supervisor. Master router & scheduler. Supervised operations in seaports in Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Wilmington, Jacksonville, Pensacola and Atlanta. Initiated a computerized tracking/tracing system tracking empty ocean containers for drop-and-hook operations. Reduced per diem charges against company by steamship lines for containers not picked up in reasonable amount of time saving the company over $50K annually. Designed and implemented a new inventory control in-processing system utilizing Microsoft Excel which reduced traffic in and out of depot as well as personnel away from the computer dispatch room by nearly 70%. Utilized cost-effective purchasing negotiated a long-term contract with NEXTEL for 2-way radios, thus saving the company nearly $35K annually. Initiated and implemented Total Quality Management of Large southeastern-based interstate trucking company, resulting in all personnel becoming more focused on the plan-of-action, more promotable and having higher morale and better attitudes.
