Christopher Wasden


Christopher L Wasden - co-leads the healthcare strategy practice in Transaction Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers. His team provides strategic advice and commercial diligence services to private equity firms, healthcare providers and payers, research institutions, and life science technology companies. He has 20+ years of operating and professional services experience in corporate finance and M&A at JP Morgan & Co., executive management and medical technology entrepreneurship and consulting. He was voted a runner-up in the 2006 Inc Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and he has lectured and made presentations on strategy and innovation at Rice University, University of Houston, Boston University, Brigham Young University, Lodz Polytechnic University, as well as venture capital conferences and other industry events. Strategy engagements: Engagements have included: market entry, M&A strategy, commercial due diligence, new market and product innovation and growth, strategy facilitation, and new venture creation both within large organizations and as an entrepreneur. Invention: Named inventor on 20 issued and/or pending life science and medical technology patents Innovation: Ran a life science incubator and evaluated over 100 medical technologies for investment across a broad array of applications including: wound management, EMR, tissue engineering, otolaryngology, hearing aids, OBGYN, cardiovascular, orthopedics, medical imaging, surgical products and supplies, dental, ophthalmology Capital Raising: Started four medical technology companies, raised in excess of $20 million in private equity capital and commitments. In addition, he has advised firms in raising over $7 billion in capital. Software and Hardware Development and Production: Managed all facets of software and hardware development from concept to prototype to commercial market launch and new product introductions. Lead the integration of software products into EMR systems. Engaged and managed medical device OEMs to produce various medical devices. Sales & Marketing: Launched new medical device technologies into the physician marketplace. Developed, trained and managed national medical technology sales force of 25 professionals as well as product support and service organization. Regulatory: Has obtained FDA 510(K) approval for medical software and hardware technologies, prepared all documents and managed the FDA audit process. Developed ICD-9 and CPT code reimbursement analysis for new medical technologies. Distribution: Developed and managed 3rd party distribution relationships including Medtronic and Sonic Innovations. Transactions: Advised on over $20 billion of M&A, equity and debt capital markets transactions in the US, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
