Chris Tripodi

I work for the Rochester Red Wings on the production crew, doing various tasks that include camera work, scoreboard operation, controlling graphics and replays and editing game highlights using Final Cut Pro.

I recently started a sports blog covering baseball, football and basketball. There will be a particular focus on New York Sports, specifically the Yankees, Jets, Knicks, Mets and Giants. I update the blog several times per week.

I currently freelance for an NFL Draft Web site, I have conducted numerous interviews with NFL prospects before and after the draft and have written draft reviews for every team in the AFC East and NFC East.

I had a temp job at ESPN until January 2010, editing highlights and doing statistical research on college football games.

I have written for multiple newspapers, including The Livingston County News in Geneseo, N.Y. and The Examiner in Mount Kisco, N.Y. I have mostly written about sports, both covering games and doing feature stories. I have also covered news and features events for The Examiner, including school board meetings and assorted soft news. In college, I was part of The Lamron, Geneseo's college newspaper, as well as television station GSTV and radio station WGSU. I am interested in breaking into both writing and broadcasting, with my major interest being sports.

My major interests lie in the world of sports. I am a very big football, baseball and basketball fan and also enjoy casually watching other sports as well, including hockey, lacrosse, soccer and tennis. I enjoy broadcasting, particularly play-by-play broadcasting, and writing. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports and staying in shape by running and lifting weights. I also enjoy playing poker, in person or online, and have had particular success playing for money.

My objective is to find a job in the sports broadcast media industry, whether in television or radio. I would also like to break into the field of sports journalism.

Final Cut Pro

I have experience with Final Cut Pro editing systems through television production classes at Geneseo and involvement with television station GSTV. I understand the basics on how to edit the audio and video elements of a package, but lack advanced knowledge of everything you can do with the program.

Adobe InDesign

I have extensive experience with Adobe InDesign from my years as sports editor and managing editor at The Lamron. My proficiency with the software enabled me to teach and help incoming editors become familiar with the ins and outs of the program.
