About Christopher Best

Based in the Miami, Florida, area, Christopher Best teaches private saxophone lessons to students ranging in age and skill. Since opening his studio in 2008, he has trained several musicians to compete at a high level in district and state recitals. In addition to providing one-on-one instruction, Christopher Best previously taught at the high school level within Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where he oversaw ensembles playing music from the classical, jazz, and marching repertoires.

In preparation for his career in teaching, Christopher Best attended Florida International University, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education with emphases on jazz and classroom improvisation. As a student, he gained proficiency on the soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, sat first chair in the Latin, jazz, and wind ensembles, and received a request to perform at the pre-ceremonies of graduation. Mr. Best now holds membership with the Florida Music Educators Association.

Outside of his work as a musician, Mr. Best is a dog lover. He particularly enjoys the company of Labrador retrievers, boxers, and Jack Russell terriers.
