Relationship Building

Relationship building is the foundation of my leadership practice and philosophy.  Beginning with my extensive training in the Capturing Kids Hearts philosophy,  transitioning through my graduate studies at Cardinal Stritch University, and continuing with my current focus of Restorative Practices,  I have developed a deep level of respect for the value of relationship building with all school stakeholders.  The level of respect I've earned from the colleagues around me clearly demonstrates my proficiency with this skill.

Restorative Practices

My experience coordinating student discipline has led me to the path of Restorative Practices as a way to improve the overall school community.  At Lane Intermediate School we are currently conducting Restorative Circles for behavior interventions, using a behavior matrix to schedule restorative projects, and finding alternative ways to respond to negative behaviors that help grow the school community.  I am deeply involved and passionate about his work.  ``

Instructional Technology

It is my firm belief that Instructional Technology does and will play a pivotal role in the future of education.  Implementing a 1:1 initiative both as a teacher and as an administrator has given me the experience to see that process through two distinct lenses.  I believe I am uniquely equipped to facilitate the effective use of technology at the building level, as well as helping staff to use it in their individual classrooms.
