Cover Letter

With thirty years of motion picture and still photography experience at Eastman Kodak Co, I routinely collaborated with the R&D and the marketing communications departments to create collateral materials that supported their new product campaigns. One of my responsibilities included budgeting, organizing, and producing demonstration films as well as still photographs that highlighted the attributes of new motion picture film stocks. My work was on display in front of a critical audience of directors, cinematographers, and producers all over the world. Also, I created product shots of new technology for brochures and the web. As an example, the link below is to a technical report for a new Kodak Laser Projector. I photographed the laser projector and the Kodak auditorium shown here using the HDR technique to blend up to twelve separate exposures to create one image using Photomatix Pro and Photoshop.

Since leaving Kodak, I have been working as a freelance cinematographer for a variety of TV commercials and a feature film in 2011. On a number of those projects, I have worked with both the Canon 5D MKII and 7D as well as HVX200, AF100, Red MX, and Red Epic cameras. My years of experience as a shooter have taught me how to be efficient, focused, and collaborative on projects of any size. I am very familiar with many types of digital cameras and photographic equipment for studio or location assignments. As well, I have used graphic software extensively and I am well versed in working with Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom for photographic color correction, enhancement, and manipulation.

In addition, I’ve worked as a freelance graphic designer to a create a feature film poster, jackets for music CDs, and brochures for political candidates. From concept to execution to delivery, the process of working on design projects is often very rewarding. There is great satisfaction in creating a piece that exceeds a client’s expectations. By delivering a final product that will “wow” them, I am fulfilling the expectations that I place on myself.

You can find more specifics on my qualifications in the attached resume. My website is the best way to view examples of my recent work.

Regards,

Christopher Hart
