Christopher Gibbs is a cinematographer, videographer, and digital video editor. As a videographer, he works with the Saint Louis Ballet, Kansas City Fringe Festival, The Big Muddy, Dance St. Louis, Kansas City Fringe Festival, and has had the pleasure of filming many dance companies including Dance Theatre of Harlem, Raghsidad, MADCO, Common Thread, and more. As a cinematographer, Gibbs’ films have shown in St. Louis at the historic Landmark’s Tivoli Theatre and the Hi-Pointe Theatre as well as at the premiere exhibition of the Saint Louis Arts Alliance, Saint Louis Filmmaker’s Showcase (2009, 2010, 2012, 2014), and the Saint Louis International Film Festival.

Gibbs brings his expertise in abstract painting, theatrical sets and multiple gallery installations to his unique style as a filmmaker.  He has produced an array of projects behind the camera including shorts, features, documentaries, narratives, and art films. But his deepest passion as a cinematographer lies in filming dance, and many projects have come about through interested parties seeing his artistic work and seeking him out for requests.
